As a designer, I love when designers are able to incorporate out-of-the-box ideas into their designs for elements that may not usually have much design influence. Take barcodes for example. Barcodes are almost always simple, vertical lines with varying widths and accompanied by numbers on the bottom. That’s not the case with this set of […]
These are products that I find while browsing the internet that I find interesting.
What you’re looking at is an open source 3D printed SLR camera that is available online for free. The 3D printing space has been getting a lot of attention lately and rightfully so. I recently met with a team who does 3D printing and got to talk about the industry, the possibilities of what can […]
Today’s design inspiration focuses on the fact that all pieces of artwork have multiple ways to interpret them, no matter what the medium. In the case shown above, the medium is actually just a way to use an original piece of artwork and use it to create another element of design. In this case, we’re […]
I just read about this really cool new product called Points. It’s a socially-powered, interactive street sign to point people in the right direction, no matter what they’re looking for. Points is a permanent or temporary solution, depending on the location and is designed for areas that have a large group of people who may […]
I’m sure a lot of us have been there. You’ve just cleaned your apartment (which is a feat in itself) and your friend/roommate is enjoying a drink in the living room. What happens next? They put their drink down right next to the coasters you have sitting out on the table. Why? Well you can’t […]
If you make it, they will buy. Designers like unique items and they typically have strong connections to colors and fonts. Well the latest concept plays off of the huge following of Pantone color lovers. You’ll soon be able to design in comfort and style! These aren’t in production yet, but they should be coming […]
This Throw and Grow Confetti is eco-friendly and ends up growing into wild flowers after being thrown. I think this is a really neat concept and I’m not even a flower guy. Maybe it’s just the face that their packaging is amazing. (via Swiss Miss)
I think it was the the facial expression but I couldn’t stop laughing at this desktop beaver pencil sharpener. Enjoy. (via Design You Trust)
Check out these loafers, unsurprisingly named ‘Bread Shoes’. You must need a lot of dough to buy these. I wonder if they’ll get crusty when they get wet. Okay enough horrible jokes, I just couldn’t get over the fact that someone made shoes out of bread. And better yet, multiple pairs. (via Design You Trust)
These oven mitts made me laugh. They don’t look too good for heat resistance, but if you’re a Facebook fanatic, I’m sure you’ll love these.
