Smart Ideas for Smart Cities

Take a look at this ad campaign for IBM titled “Smart Ideas for Smarter Cities” and look at how useful each of these could be around your area. This is such a smart idea for an ad campaign, if not the smartest that I’ve seen in a while. It’s beautifully designed and super user-friendly. They used their ad space to double as solutions to everyday problems for pedestrians. Need to sit down and tie your shoe? Have you ever been riding your bike and the only way to get where you’re going involves going up a flight of stairs? Okay well have you ever gotten caught in the rain while you were walking somewhere? Of course, at least once. That’s where IBM’s campaign comes into play.

In the picture above, you’ll see a man using the ad to stay dry during a rain storm. There’s also a concept that adds a ramp to a set of stairs, and one that doubles as a bench. There’s a video at the link above which I also recommend checking out, it’s great to see how they see this campaign furthering the innovation in advertising and cities themselves. What’s the last ad campaign that you’ve seen help the consumers?  (via Design You Trust)
